The redhead leaned back in her chair, brushing the loose forelock of hair out of her eyes as it again slipped down into them. Even with the fleeting contact she’d had with Arykka, no one was any closer to understanding why the Lefu had attacked them without warning or provocation. You are Enemy. That is enough.
Weekly Short Story ‘Catalogue of Services’ and Drabble Prompt Thread
With the prompts of 'grown to order' from Sam C and 'clever girl' from Henri Black, we return to the Seededverse and check back in on our favourite amoral mercenary as she starts a new job. There's also a new prompt thread for my patrons for next week's story.
The Last Angel: Ozymandias
The votes of my patrons have been cast and tallied and this month’s next update is a return to Ozymandias. Harper’s Very Bad Day continues, but on the plus side her captor isn’t having the best time either, even if Adrianna is determined to keep her alive, seemingly at any cost to herself, which annoys… Continue reading The Last Angel: Ozymandias
New Drabble: All that Remains, and Weekly Prompt Thread
This week's prompt comes from Arthur with 'genetic ark' and a story about some survivors finding a new world to call their own... too bad it already has some inhabitants. Enjoy! There's also a new prompt thread up for my patrons.
Scars, Chapter 15
This month’s first main update is live, returning us to Scars. In this chapter, the vampire responds to Khy-kala’s presence in Janth’s Bend. There’s only room for one apex predator here. Meanwhile, Jilene, wracked by nightmares and unending pain, continues to go through a horrifying change. Hope you all enjoy this latest chapter! There's a… Continue reading Scars, Chapter 15
Weekly Drabble ‘Dead Lights’ and Weekly Prompt Thread.
With the prompts of 'walking talking corpses' from Henri Black, 'everyone welcome' from EBB and 'whispers in the snow' from Xpholia, we check in with our favourite (by default) elaphocentaur and what she's been up to. Currently, it's leading a handful of human survivors across a cursed lake to escape flesh-crazed dryads. Fun!
Children of Heaven: Choir of Silence, Chapter 5
“BXA analysts have put forward several theories, but there’s no corroboration for any of them,” Adeipho continued, doing his best not to grind his teeth. He was aware of his characterization as an ‘empty suit’. In fact, unkind observers had commented that when Rodriquez and Erasmus met, the PDP Assemblywoman ensured that there would be two fine suits in the room, but only one actual person. He was the President of the United Terran Concord, damn it! The largest, longest-lasting civilization in history. Sure, he was prepared to admit that Rodriquez had helped, but he knew he could have done it on his own. But yet, here the president of the United Terran Concord was, giving a briefing like one of his own aides. And Rodriquez didn’t even seem to notice. If the other members of his cabinet had, they wisely kept their mouths shut.
Weekly Drabble: ‘Quality of Mercy’
This week's prompt is 'the mercy of reapers' from Xpholia and so we return to Heresy And Hope, wherein Hope's commander escorts their infrequent guest through the ship, hoping to avoid any unpleasant incidents. Spoiler: they're not successful.
Children of Heaven: Choir of Silence, Chapter 4
It had slipped into the system two days ago, unseen and undetected. The Enemy were attempting to refurbish their brightspace tracking systems to detect single-ship incursions, but according to the information squealed to it from a Scouting Vessel, they were awaiting a shipment of specialized parts and systems. The Fire Knives had wreaked more havoc then anticipated and severely crippled the Major Enemy Base’s production capability. That was encouraging.
The Last Angel: The Hungry Stars, Chapter 19
‘The wider the smile, the sharper the knife.’ And here we go with the final update for this month. We’re back with a new chapter to The Hungry Stars. Lakhesis and her passengers have finally arrived at Nibiru and the crew make ready to greet their hosts and see humanity’s last free refuge in the… Continue reading The Last Angel: The Hungry Stars, Chapter 19
